JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager, Application Support the SAP PI Technical System Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, deploying and maintaining SAP PI/XI (Process Integration/Exchange Infrastructure) middleware solutions. The SAP PI Technical System Analyst utilizes knowledge of the business operation combined with a solid understanding of information technology to provide technical, process, and procedural solutions to achieve overall goals and objectives. A successfully integrated system allows information to work harder and smarter, increasing the speed of business reaction time, and facilitating seamless, straight-through transaction processing.
Responsibilities include:
- Strong knowledge on PI configuration and mapping tools.
- Development of synchronous/asynchronous bridges in PI environment
- Development of JAVA, ABAP, and XSLT mapping programs
- Analyze existing XSLT ABAP and JAVA programs to troubleshoot or enhance integration scenarios
- Troubleshoot existing code and provide impact analysis for proposed code changes - ABAP Objects programming and traditional ABAP structured programming
- Delivering a consistent and scalable design
- Proactively identify common design patterns for repurpose and reuse
- Developing and documenting technical architecture and roadmaps that support application integration
- Development of common practices for code review to support automated deployments
- Design, development, deliver, and support enterprise services
- Scrutinize the Solution Design for integration aspects of the solution based on knowledge and previous implementation experience
- Provide input on technical implications of specific design solutions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years of experience in SAP Applications Integration at multiple client sites
- Five years of experience in middleware solutions and Service Oriented Architecture concepts
- Minimum of 4 full life cycle large project implementations
- Functional experience in one or more solution areas to act as techno-functional expert
- Experience in SAP’s SOA offerings, BPM, Java, experience with other non-SAP EAI or ETL tools
- Strong understanding and practical experience integrating SAP Business Suite Components (SAP ERP, SAP CRM, SAP SRM and SAP SCM)
- Experience with SAP NetWeaver Process Integration 7.0 and later versions
- Certification in SAP NetWeaver PI Development 7.0 or later
- Deep Knowledge of the following NetWeaver PI topics:
- Protocol and message transformation techniques/best practices
- Tuning and configuration of SAP PI components/environment
- Integration Directory and Integration Engine
- Advanced Adapter Engine and Business Process Engine
- System Landscape Directory (SLD) configuration and troubleshooting
- Deep knowledge of the following ABAP topics:
- ABAP Development Workbench, ABAP Dictionary and ABAP Editor
- Interfaces techniques such as IDOCs, RFC calls, BAPIs
- Enhancements and Modifications techniques, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancement Points, Enhancements Sections, Switch Framework and Enhancements Framework
- Experience with NetWeaver Development Studio (NWDS) and NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI) components
- Solid experience in System Analysis, Design and Documentation
- Demonstrated project capabilities including: scope and risk analysis, planning, progress tracking, and communication within a project team
- Understanding of SAP’s ASAP methodology
- Ability to work as a member of a team following defined development and testing processes
- Ability to work independently to establish the design for various interface types
- Ability to work with the functional & technical teams to collect overall PI requirements, design, develop and configure PI repository objects make recommendations on Performance tuning and maintenance of the PI system to the technical and Basis team
- Ability to actively participate and lead design reviews
- Ability to derive work plans and estimate work and meet deadlines
- Ability to prepare detailed technical specifications and/or test plans from which programs will be written, they may be highly complex.
